Alaskan Bush People star Ami Brown has recently been the talk of the town for her frail health condition. She recently underwent treatment of stage 4 lung cancer, and was confirmed disease free in December 2017. However, it is rumored that her cancer has returned, and that has left her fans in dismay. They are curious about her health status and also are pondering whether she will be back in the new season of Alaskan Bush People or not?

What happened to Ami Brown?

The 54-years-old Ami Brown was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer in 2017. The diagnosis revealed that her chances of survival rates were less than 3%. Further, she was treated with two rounds of chemo at UCLA medical center. Receiving chemoradiation made her impossible to eat anything which made her go down to a life-threatening 77 lbs. However, after a year-long battle, she was declared cancer-free in December 2017, regaining weight to 104lbs.

Later, it was revealed that her health has again deteriorated with the swirling rumor of the revival of her cancer after she was spotted at the UCLA medical center again. But the sources claimed that, Although cancer has gone into remission, “Ami is doing okay right now.” They also added that Ami is still frail, but is doing alright. Despite all the life-threatening health issues, she has been fighting her battle to win over.

In an Interview with People, she opened about how she never lost hope during the severe condition. She shared, “I realized early into this that it’s very easy to want to give up and just die. And on the pessimist side, it could be my last days," she continued, "But I have the will to fight."

Further, she explained, "Worrying about it only makes it worse. There is hope and that hope is having faith in God. You can’t give up. I tell people be happy. Just be happy. It’s a choice. Things can be hard and you just want to curl up but you have to shine." Maybe her positive thoughts and willpower helped her to overcome the tough situation.

It has been confirmed that Alaskan Bush People will return for the season 8 along with Ami Brown. According to Radar Online, she will be starring in the upcoming season and will continue to be alongside her family. Though there were rumors of show cancellation, Discovery Channel spokesperson, Laurie Goldberg, assured that the filming season 8 is underway and was just delayed due to multiple circumstances.

Apart from Ami’s health condition, another reason for the show delay was the property they have purchased for the new season filming which is extremely remote and is not easily accessible during the winter.

Moreover, another primary reason was the several health issues that Brown family members went through recently. Apparently, 24-year-old Noah had emergency gallbladder surgery and, his elder brother, Gabe has had an awful flu-like illness for weeks.

According to Radar Online, Discovery Channel spokesperson, Laurie Goldberg, told that the series hasn’t been canceled.

Goldberg assured that the filming for season 8 is underway and the season premiere was pushed back from May due to multiple circumstances.

The famous Brown family featured in the show are staying at a half million worth lakeside mansion in Washington.

The property they have purchased for the new season filming is extremely remote and not easily accessible during the winter.

Another major reason that is delaying the season premiere is severe health issues that several members of the family have been through recently.

Reportedly, Noah, 24, who is supposedly living away from the family had emergency gallbladder surgery.

And, his elder brother, Gabe, has had an awful flu-like illness for weeks.

Moreover, the family matriarch, who struggled with stage 4 lung cancer, reportedly has her illness back.

After nearly a year-long battle, Ami was declared cancer-free in December 2017.

However, after she was spotted at the UCLA medical center, where she underwent treatment previously, rumors surfaced that her cancer has returned.

Reports have it that Ami is still frail, but is doing alright. She will surely show up in the upcoming season. 

The 54 years old star hasn’t given up on her battle with health issues and has the will to fight.

Now, it’s confirmed that Ami, Billy and all of their children, including Noah, are excited to be filming for the new season.
