RuPaul’s Drag Race all winners and where are they now?
RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered on February 2, 2009 and has since completed ten seasons. And now, the casting of season 11 has already begun from January 2018. The TV series is produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV and, beginning with the ninth season, VH1. The host and the judge of the show, RuPaul has been playing a dual role in the show. Sometimes, he comes up as RuPaul the drag queen and gives his final verdict, judging and eliminating the contestants, while RuPaul the man offers guidance to the contestants for each challenge.
The American reality competition series just completed it’s announcing Aquaria as the winner, who took home $100k and a crown along with a year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics. She was also awarded scepter from Shandar Fashion Accessories and Shoes. Further, Eureka and Kameron Michaels finished as Runner-ups, and Monet X Change was announced Miss Congeniality.
As the new season comes along every year, the new contestants steal the limelight, but the winners remain on the top now and forever. So, let’s have a look at the winners of RuPaul’s Drag Race from season 1 to recent.
Season1 (Feb 2, 2009- Mar 23, 2009)- BeBe Zahara Benet
Nea Marshall Kudi Ngwa, who goes by the stage name, BeBe Zahara Benet won the very first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. After the completion of the reality show, she started her singing career and more recently has released two singles, Dirty Drums/ Cameroon (All Stars Mix) and Jungle Kitty.
In 2018, she also returned to the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars as a surprise contestant.

Season 2 (Feb 1, 2010-Apr 26, 2010)-Tyra Sanchez
James Ross IV aka Tyra Sanchez won the Title of RuPaul’s Drag Queen season 2. The frequent drag impersonator of pop star Beyonce is very much popular for the controversies he gets himself in. More recently, he spread the news of Morgan McMichael via his SoundCloud page, for which he later apologized but refused to remove the post. Also, he was banned from attending the 2018 “RuPaul’s DragCon” after he made some terrorist threats.

Season 3 (Jan 30, 2012-Apr 30, 2012)- Raja
Sutan Amrull, who goes by the monikers Raja and Raja Gemini is a drag performer and American makeup artist. Apart from being renowned as the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Queen season 3, he is also known for his contribution as the makeup artist on America’s Next Top Model from season 4 to 9. He has also appeared in several TV shows, movie and web shows.
Season 4 (Jan 30, 2012-Apr 30, 2012)- Sharon Needles
The American drag performer and recording artist, Sharon Needles is best known by his stage name Aaron Coady. So far, he has released three stage albums and the more recent one is Battle Axe. Pittsburgh City Paper also voted him the “Best Drag Performer” in 2015. He is also the drag mother of the Drag Race season 10 winner Aquaria.

Season 5 (Jan 28, 2013-May 6, 2013)- Jinkx Monsoon
Jerick Hoffer aka Jinkx Monsoon is famous as the winner of the fifth season of RuPaul’s’ Drag Race. But apart from that, she’s got her feet in the different field. She is also a comedian, actor, singer and of course a drag performer. She has also performed in several theatrical shows, movies, TV shows and web series. Till date, she has released two studio albums and the recent one is The Ginger Snapped.

Season 6 (Feb 24, 2014-May 19, 2014)- Bianca Del Rio
Roy Haylock, the American drag queen, is better known by the stage name Bianca Del Rico. She is also an actor and costume designer who started performing as a drag artist in the 1996 play Pageant. Prior to winning the sixth season of RuPaul Drag Race in 2014, she had appeared in various web series, events and TV shows. Afterward winning the drag queen title, she has written and toured several stand-up shows.

Season 7 (March 2, 2015- June 1, 2015)- Violet Chachki
Violet Chachki goes by the stage name Jason Dardo. This American drag queen has taken the field of burlesque dance by storm with her breathtaking performances. Dardo, who identified as gender fluid, is also a recording artist and model. Dardo stole the Drag Race for aesthetics and confident demeanor and took home the $100k cash prize. In November 2017, Dardo became the first drag queen in the major lingeries ad campaign for Bettie Page Lingerie. In January 2018, Dardo even walked for Moschino at Milan Fashion Week. More recently in May 2018, Dardo released fourth single, A Lot More Me.

Season 8 (March 7, 2016- May 16, 2016)- Bob the Drag Queen
Christopher Caldwell, better known as Bob the Drag Queen is an American drag queen. He earned wide recognition after he won the eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, where he seized the attention of many with his comic performance.
He has worked as a fill-in anchor for Katya on The Trixie & Katya Show. In July 2017, Logo aired his comedy special, Bob the Drag Queen: Suspiciously Large Woman. He also played the role of Belize on Angels in America, a Berkeley Rep’s Broadway production.

Season 9 (March 24, 2017- June 23, 2017)- Sasha Velour
Alexander “Sasha” Hedges Steinberg aka Sasha Velour is an American drag queen, who is popular as the New York-based artist and creative director. Steinberg is genderqueer, but her drag persona is referred as ‘she.’
She is also known for producing the monthly drag show, Nightgowns, at the National Sawdust in Brooklyn. Her drag career started while she was at school. Known for being out of the box artist, Sasha’s comics and illustrations have been featured in several magazines including Comics Workbook Magazine and Cicada Magazine.
