In August 2015, Daddy Dave was severely injured in a rollover car crash while driving his nitrous-fed Chevy Nova named Goliath in Amarillo Dragway in Texas. The drag race quickly turned into nightmares for Dave after his car slammed against the wall and flipped six times crushing the whole car.

Even though, the accident seemed extremely dreadful, Dave only suffered a concussion and bruised lungs. He was quickly rushed to the hospital. As of now, he has fully recovered from the injury and is back in the game.

After the accident, he built a new car, a customized 1963 Chevy Nova, which is named Goliath 2.0. He has installed one of the most powerful and reliable drag racer’s power-plant, Proline 481X, in his Chevy Nova. Dave took on Facebook page to reveal that his new Chevy Nova will be much faster with the PLR 481X and F3. He also announced that his new car will feature Fuel Tech’s FT600 in the new set up.

Beside his career as a street racer, Daddy Dave is also a husband and a father. He has been married to the love of his life, Cassi Comstock, since March 1, 2013. The couple shares a 10-year-old daughter and one step-daughter, Shaiah. More recently, Dave wished Cassi her forty-second birthday on Facebook. They are often seen sharing pictures of one another via social media.
