What happened to Alex Ferguson?
Sir Alex Ferguson was taken to Macclesfield Hospital on May 5 before being transferred to Salford Royal after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He was last seen publicly at Old Trafford on April 29, when he presented Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, a commemorative trophy.
On May 9, Manchester United announced “Sir Alex no longer needs intensive care and will continue rehabilitation as an inpatient. ” The statement further added “His family have been overwhelmed by the level of support and good wishes but continue to request privacy as this will be vital during this next stage of recovery.”
