Mayhew is
scheduled to Star Wars: The Last Jedi
in December 2017.

Mark Hamill/Luke Skywalker

Mark Hamill
was encouraged by actor Robert Englund to audition for the role.

He starred
in the original trilogy and later reprised his role in the 2015 movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In 2017,
Hamill starred in the animated movie Bunyan and Babe and comedy drama Brigsby
Bear.

Ian McDiarmid/Palpatine

Tony
award-winning actor Ian McDiarmid portrayed Palpatine for the first time in
Return of the Jedi.

He reprised
the role sixteen years later in The
Phanton Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.

Most
recently, he starred in The Lost City of Z.

Warwick Davis/Wicket

English
actor Warwick Davis portrayed Ewok Wicket in 1983’s Star Wars Episode VI:
Return of the Jedi.

He was first
cast as an extra but later George Lucas picked him to play Wicket after Kenny
Baker fell ill.

In 2017,
Davis voiced Rukh in the television series Star
Wars: Rebels, and will star in Star
Wars: The Last Jedi.

Denis Lawson/Wedge Antilles

Denis Lawson
starred as Wedge Antilles in the original trilogy of the Star Wars franchise.

He was asked
to portray the character in Star War: The
Force Awakens but he refused stating that it would be a bore.

Lawson
hasn’t been active in the film or television industry since 2014.

David Prowse/Darth Vader

David Prowse portrayed Darth Vader in the original trilogy.

He only
served as the physical form of Darth Vader; the character was voiced by James
Earl Jones.

In 2015,
Prowse appeared in a Spanish documentary I Am Your Father.
