Miley Cyrus is an American singer-songwriter and actress who is perhaps best known for her career-defining role as Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana. After the show ended, Miley made a name for herself as a pop singer.

Miley was born as Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee to the Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray Cyrus and his second wife, Tish Cyrus. Her sister, Noah Cyrus, and half-brother, Trace Cyrus are also singers. Country singer Dolly Parton is Miley’s godmother.

When she was 11, Miley auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana. Billy Ray Cyrus also starred in the series, as Hannah Montana’s father. The show’s success catapulted Miley to instant stardom and teen idol status. She was signed to Hollywood Records and went on to release four albums with the label. 

In 2009, she and her father starred in Hannah Montana: The Movie. Miley explored acting in a few other movies such as The Last Song (2010), LOL (2012), So Undercover (2012), and The Night Before (2015).

With the release of her fourth album, Bangerz, in 2013, Miley introduced a more mature image, which received mixed response from fans. Miley is engaged to  Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. They began dating while they were filming the 2010 movie, The Last Song. They were broken up for few years and reunited in mid-2016. During the Woosley Fire on November 2018, both the stars had lost their homes.

According to Miley, losing their homes to fire was a catalyst for them to get married and so, on December 23, 2018, the two tied the knot at a private event in their home in Nashville, Tennessee. Days before announcing their split on August 10, 2019, Miley was spotted kissing Brody Jenner’s wife, Kaitlynn Carter on the shore of Lake Como, Italy.
