Lori Stokes was married to husband Brian Thompson. A few years ago, her fairy tale marriage ended with a divorce. The former Eyewitness News anchor has two daughters with her ex-husband.

Lori met Brian Thompson for the first time while giving a job interview at WNBC in 1996. Two years after their first meeting, they tied the knot.

The couple called it quits a few years later and had an amicable divorce. Stokes confirmed their divorce with a post on her Twitter on Christmas Eve in 2014. She shared a photo of herself with her Thompson and in the caption she referred to him as her “ex-husband.”

The reason for divorce is not known. Lori and Brian remain close friends. Thompson is also a reporter currently working with NBC 4 New York. He has been associated with the network since 1998.

The former couple are parents to two grown up daughters; Nicole “Nikki” Stokes and Alexandra “Alex” Stokes-Thompson.

Stokes has two adult daughters, Nikki and Alex. She frequently shares photos of her daughters on her Instagram. Several fans have noticed the strikingly similar appearances of the three and the comments under her photos featuring her daughters mostly resonate with “You look like sisters!!”

She gave birth to her younger daughter Nikki on January 19, 1995. Nikki is a graduate of Georgetown University and has a love of sports, especially basketball.

Stokes announced on August 16, 2017 that she was leaving Eyewitness News after 17 years of service. Her reason for departure has not been revealed yet. During her time at ABC, Stokes dedicated herself to delivering excellent news stories.

For her contribution to the network, Stokes has been awarded several times.
