Fans' Reaction to Doug Davidson Exit
Doug has been portraying Genoa City’s police chief, Paul Williams, on the show. In a conversation with Soap Dirt, the veteran actor opened, “My contract was not renewed in January, and I have been recurring since then.”
A fan asked on Twitter, “They haven’t let you go, have they?” to which the actor replied, “It would seem so.” Fans are shocked by the sudden exit of Doug from the show and have been sending him wishes on Twitter.
He is active on Twitter where he has been thanking his fans for 40 years of love and support. Another vet, Eileen Davidson, left the show earlier in June while Eric Braeden is taking time off from the show.
Doug has been a part of the show since May 23, 1978, and was the longest-running cast member before his exit. Best of Luck, Doug for your upcoming adventures.
