Dan Stevens is not Returning as Matthew Crawley!
When the news of Downton movie surfaced, fans were happy knowing that the main cast is returning. But, there is always an exception. Matthew Crawley, who was killed in a car accident in a season 3 episode, isn’t coming back from dead.
We are certain that Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Michelle Dockery among others are already on the docket. In an Instagram post in August last year, he sent fans to a frenzy after asking them if they want Matthew Crawley with or without a mustache.
The comment section was filled with fans’ excitement on the clue of his return while they were voting “no mustache.”
Stevens, who is also known for playing the role of Beast alongside Emma Watson Beauty and the Beast, is starring in FX’s Legion since 2017. Alongside Stevens, Lily James (Lady Rose MacClare) and Ed Speleers (Jimmy Kent) are also not reprising their roles in the upcoming Downton movie. There are also some newcomers in the movie, including Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips and Stephen Campbell Moore.
