When the news of the Downton movie surfaced, fans were happy knowing that the main cast was returning. But, there is always an exception. Matthew Crawley, killed in a car accident in a season 3 episode, isn’t coming back from the dead.

We are sure that Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Michelle Dockery, among others, are already on the docket. In an Instagram post in August last year, he sent fans into a frenzy after asking them if they wanted Matthew Crawley with or without a moustache.
The comment section was filled with fans’ excitement on the clue of his return while they were voting “no moustache.”
Stevens, who is also known for playing the role of Beast alongside Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast, has been starring in FX’s Legion since 2017. Alongside Stevens, Lily James (Lady Rose MacClare) and Ed Speleers (Jimmy Kent) are also not reprising their roles in the upcoming Downton movie. Some newcomers are also in the film, including Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, David Haig, Tuppence Middleton, Kate Phillips, and Stephen Campbell Moore.
