Will Charlie Hunnam Reprise his Sons of Anarchy Role in Mayans MC?
September 4 is just around the corner, and it’s only a few days left until Mayans MC, the long-awaited spin-off of Sons of Anarchy premiers. It has made the fans nostalgic in a way, and they are eager to see some old characters back on the screen.
Charlie Hunnam Won’t be Returning!
We might burst your bubbles when we say Charlie Hunnam won’t be returning as outlaw motorcyclist, Jax Teller. It was obvious as we saw the tragic demise of Jax in the SOA finale, but fans couldn’t help to seek for the possibility of getting him back into the character.
Like any other spin-off series, Mayans MC will weave references to Jax’s world throughout the series. There’s a possibility that his sons, Abel and Thomas, will be brought back in the spin-off.
While appearing in the premiere of his new film, Papillon, Charlie shared that Jax “had become so deeply integrated into who [he] was.” When fans were doleful to bid their final goodbyes to the show and Jax, Charlie also “went through a period of two or three weeks of, like, real bereavement.” As special as the character was for the viewers, it was close to Charlie’s heart and as he shared was also “sort of became sacred to him.”
Unlike SOA, Mayans MC will revolve around Latino culture and depict the rivalry of Hispanic clubs of Southern California. The show stars JD Pardo, Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Carla Baratta, Richard Cabral and more.
