Charles Payne early life

Charles was born on 15 November 1960. His father was Charles Leroy Payne Sr, an MSG US Army, who passed away in July 2016 at the age of 73.

When Charles was 17, he joined the United States Air Force and started serving as a security policeman. During the process, he was posted at the Minot Air Force Base in Minot, North Dakota. Payne completed his education while serving the USAF from the Minot State University and the Central Texas College.

Charles Payne’s journey to Fox News

Charles left USAF in the early 80s to pursue a career in Wall Street. Eventually, in 1985 he began working as an analyst at E.F. Hutton, a stock brokerage firm. 

In 1991, Charles founded an independent stock market research company called Wall Street Strategies and began serving as its CEO and chief financial analyst. The award-winning firm is located in the heart of Wall Street and has been providing actionable equity research advice to individuals and institutions.

A sought after leader of the stock market, Charles has also authored a book entitled Be Smart, Act Fast, Get Rich: Your Game Plan for Getting It Right in the Stock Market, which was published in May 2007. He began serving as a contributor for Fox Business News in October of the same year.

On Fox Business News, Charles appears Monday to Friday at 6-7 PM/ET hosting the show Making Money with Charles Payne. From the show, he delivers the viewers an “insider’s look at tomorrow’s money makers.”

Charles Payne has accumulated a net worth of approx. $10 million so far. Although Payne’s salary is still under review, it is speculated that he makes at least a million per year.

Charles is a married man and is living in Teaneck, New Jersey with wife Yvonne Payne. The couple has a son named Charles and a granddaughter named Cassidy.

Charles admitted to having an affair with former Fox News personality, Scottie Nell Hughes, who accused him of raping her. The accusation first surfaced in July 2017, two months after which Hughes filed a lawsuit against Payne, along with Fox News, 21st Century Fox and two other Fox News spokesperson.
