Brynn Cartelli, a teen singing sensation, has set a place on many hearts after her performance on NBC singing competition, The Voice in season 14. She sang Labrinth's hit single Beneath Your Beautiful on the blind audition round convincing two of the judges to turn their chairs. However, she ultimately chose to be on Team Kelly.
Brynn Cartelli was born on April 16, 2003, in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. She was only four years old when her mother introduced her to Kelly Clarkson's song Breakaway. Even at such a tender age, she was intensely connected to the music and was fascinated to pursue her career in music.
At the age of 6, Brynn joined a local theater program and started taking part in school talent shows. Shortly after becoming a part of the theater, her parents bought her a piano and, she began writing her own songs. Brynn is also a lacrosse and USA field hockey player and maintains a great balance in her education, sports and music career.
Her appearance on The Voice
Brynn's journey as a musician started when she recorded her two originals, Pink Sky and Future of Us at the age of 12. Further, she went to compete for a chance to sing the national anthem at New England Revolution home game in 2016.
Eventually, she became one of the three winners who got an opportunity to perform at Gillette Stadium a year later. After her performance in front of 15,000 people, she started playing in small bars, restaurants, and anywhere she could gather a small crowd. In 2017, she was named to most likely win a Grammy in Nantucket Blackbook Year in Review.
With her experience and knowledge in music, she went to audition for The Voice in Season 13. She made her way to the blind audition, but unfortunately, she couldn't make any of the judges turn a chair. However, Brynn didn't give up and appeared for an audition in the most recent season of The Voice.
She sang Labrinth's hit single, Beneath Your Beautiful during the blind audition of season 14, making two of the judges turn their chairs. Grammy Award-winning, Kelly Clarkson was the first to rotate the iconic chair, while Blake Shelton soon followed her. As Brynn grew up listening to Kelly Clarkson, there was no any chance that she would choose any other judges over Kelly.
After her blind audition, she battled against Dylan Hartigan in her first battle round. She sang Taylor Swift's Ready for It and won against Dylan. Further, in the knockout round, she won against Jamella, where she sang Here Comes Goodbye by Rascal Flatts.
On April 16, she sang Unstoppable by the Rascals Flatts while competing for her place in Top 12. She won the first public vote by accumulating staggering 88% of the total votes. Recently, she took on Instagram to share her happiness on being the Top 11 contestants of the show. She is steadily paving her way to the top.
