Big Brother is an American reality game show based on a Dutch TV series of the same name. The show follows a diverse group of contestants who are known as the HouseGuests. The HouseGuests are competing for a grand prize of $500,000. The show has weekly competitions and evictions determining who will win the show. The show premiered on July 5, 2000, and has already completed its 20th season.
If you are a Big Brother fan, then you must have witnessed the betrayals, agreements, alliances and most of all, the romances on the show. These relationships happen for many reasons including a strategy to stay longer in the house. However, some couples have continued seeing each other, and some even got married after leaving the house.
Mark Jansen and Elena Davies
Watching Mark Jansen and Elena Davies' relationship was exciting. Fans remember them from season 19 as #Marlena. Mark had a crush on Elena the moment he laid eyes on her. On the other hand, Elena realized she had feelings for Mark while in the Jury house. Davies said in an interview with Us Weekly,
“I didn’t decide I couldn’t live without him until we spent the jury house together … I didn’t know what our future would look like exactly but I knew it would be our future.”
The couple is still together and are set to get married.
Raven Walton and Matthew Clines
Raven Walton and Matthew Clines are the couple from season 19. After leaving the house, the pair remained good friends. Their relationship status is still unclear. However, when Raven experienced some health struggles, Matthew had helped her through the harsh time.
Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder
Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder met on the set of season 11. The pair started their relationship on Big Brother and have remained together outside the house. Schroeder proposed to Lloyd when they came to meet the season 16 contestants of the show. Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder are now married with two kids.
Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo
Season 18 contestant Nicole Franzel became the first woman to win Big Brother. She and Victor Arroyo formed a relationship on the show and started dating after leaving the house. Victor proposed to Nicole during a special episode of Big Brother’s season 20. Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo are now engaged.
“Nic, we met in the Big Brother house over two years ago. And right away, I thought you were the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, and I fell in love with your personality. We formed a friendship in the Big Brother house, but our friendship really blossomed outside in the real world. I knew the moment that we had that first kiss in New York that I was in love with you. And even though I didn’t win the money, I walked out of Big Brother with the biggest prize of all, and that’s you.”
Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson
Season 19 contestants Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson struggled to stay in the house of Big Brother, but they were inseparable from day one. Nickson had issues with most of the housemates and this made them targets. The two have been together since the season ended and they won The Amazing Race season 30 together.
The couple are now married. Their wedding was officiated by the head of casting at Big Brother, Robyn Kass. Nickson talked about the process,
“We wanted it to be somebody that was a part of the special process that even brought us here”
The two are also expecting a baby girl in April 2019.
Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas
Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas first met on the twelfth season of Big Brother. They also joined The Amazing Race for two seasons. The two really hit it off during the shooting and soon formed an inseparable bond. The couple are now married and have an adorable daughter named Adora Borealis.
Daniele Donato and Dominic Briones
Daniele Donato and Dominic Briones met on season 13 of Big Brother. They started dating after the show. The couple got married in a Bohemian-style wedding in 2013 and in 2018, they welcomed their first child, Tennessee Autumn Briones.
Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton
Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton met in the 2006 series of Big Brother. Grace was evicted for throwing a glass of water at a housemate. After Mikey too got evicted, the two got together and got married in 2009. Grace and Mikey now have 3 kids.
