The celebrations of Independence Day on The Fourth of July is just around the corner which marks the two hundred and the 42nd anniversary of the birth of the United States. In honor of this historic day, we bring to you the list of five reality stars who have served in the military. These are the people who not only entertained us with their presence on TV but also answered when Uncle Sam came calling.
Cody Nickson (The Amazing Race)
Before competing in the reality TV shows like Big Brother and The Amazing Race, Cody served in the military for 10 years. Cody Lee Nickson served in United State Air Force and United States Marine Corps. After his time in the Army, he was given an honorary discharge and expert rifle marksmanship medal. The winner of The Amazing Race had ranks of Corporal and Staff Sergeant.
Richard Benjamin Harrison (Pawn Stars)
Richard Benjamin Harrison Jr., mostly known as the “Old Man” from the famous reality TV series, Pawn Stars, served in the Navy for 22 years. During his time at the Navy, Harrison attended the rank of petty officer first class and did a stint as the paymaster. Later in life, he started the pawn business with his son, Rick Harrison, and opened World Famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop.
Si Robertson (Duck Dynasty)
Si Robertson or simply known as Uncle Si is the part of the duck hunting Robertson clan and the star of the reality series, Duck Dynasty. He is actually a United States Army veteran who served for 25 years from 1968 to 1993 and fought in the Vietnam war. The trademark blue cap he wears was acquired during his time at the military.
Richard Hatch (Survivor)
Richard Hatch is the winner of the first season of Survivor in 2000. He enlisted in the US Army in 1980 and was honorably discharged in 1985. He also appeared in other reality series like Celebrity Apprentice and The Biggest Loser.
Dr. Andy Baldwin (The Bachelor)
Dr. Andy was the bachelor of the tenth season of the reality show, The Bachelor. He is a US Naval doctor and officer. He is the founder of Got Your Back Network, which honors the fallen soldiers’ families. He graduated magna cum laude from the Duke University. He is currently a triathlete who has been a part of All-Navy triathlon three times.
