Jeff Lutz is a street racer best known for appearing in the Discovery’s reality series, Street Outlaws. He also holds the all-time drag record at the Hot Rod Drag Week. He drives a customized 1969 Chevrolet Camaro aka Mad Max. In 2017, He introduced his new car, ’57 Chevy which he built in his car shop, Lutz Race Cars.
Career and net worth
Jeff Lutz’s introduction to street racing came much later in his life as he was born to a family with no admiration or devotion towards the cars. His passion for cars ascended after driving his brother’s Camaro at a drag strip. He slowly developed his knowledge and skills towards the craft of racing after his father bought him his first car, a 74 Nova when he was a teenager.
His obsession towards the speed landed him on the Discovery‘s reality series, Street Outlaws. Although his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was not initially built for street racing, Jeff made his way into the Top Ten List with the pro mod Camaro, Mad Max, in season 9 of the show. However, his regime soon came to an end after Big Chief canceled out all the pro mod cars from the list.

Jeff and his co-pilot Scott Murray was also a regular at the Hot Rod Drag Week competition every year. He won the Hot Rod Drag Week 2016 with a run of 6.106 at 243.51 mph. However, in the following season, Jeff became the King of Drag Racing after surpassing Larry Larson’s 5.89-second record with his astonishing 5.85-second pass at 251.34 mph.
In 2017, Jeff and his son, Jeffery. Jr built a new 1957 Chevy which debuted at the 3rd Annual Tri-Five National In Bowling Green, Kentucky in August 2017. The latest 57′ Chevy crafted at the Lutz Race Cars is powered by a 540 big-block with twin 98 mm turbos. Jeff is also set to return to the Street Outlaws with his new car and compete for the no.1 spot.

His son also shares passion towards the cars and street racing.
