Wayne Varley is Oklahoma based street racer who is widely known for appearing in the Discovery Channel’s reality series, Street Outlaws. Varley races a vintage ’80 Ford Mustang named The Gold Car.

Wayne Varley was passionate about cars and speed from a young age. His passion for cars grew even more after he went to work for the Ford cars when he was only 12.

At the age of 16, Varley started taking the odd jobs and started saving every penny to buy a muscle car. He started off racing in the streets of Oklahoma after he purchased the 1980 Ford Fox Body Mustang and named it, The Gold Car.

He is also known for manifesting his admiration for Ford. He has never used any other engines except Ford in The Gold Car making him the only guy on Street Outlaws without a Chevrolet engine.

The highly modified  ’80 Ford Mustang aka The Gold Car holds a 526ci big-block Ford engine with Wiseco pistons, Eagle rods, Cobra Jet cylinder heads, and a 1050-cfm Dominator carburetor. The powerful engine in the vintage car has made it one of the renowned car among the racers of Oklahoma. 

Apart from being a legendary street racer, Varley also owns an auto restoration shop named Varleys Auto and Performance. The repair shop was established on June 20, 1996, with the ambition to repair and restore old cars and deliver them with new life.
