Before discussing why they were fired from the show, let us take a look back at their respective career.

Tom Smith aka The Car Guy worked on cars on his uncle’s house at a very young age. He got his first ticket at the age of 10, which shows his passion towards car.

He worked at many TV towers, including World Trade Center Tower 2. However, he moved to Texas and started working on cars after which he was hired by Gas Monkey Garage.

Jordan Butler is another motorhead who worked with his builder father and used to drag race as a teenager.

He got degrees in fabrication and street rodding and worked as a pit crew for the legendary, John Force. He became a highly sought after chassis builder.

He impressed Thomas Weeks with his work, and Thomas introduced him to Gas Monkey Garage. Jordan later started working there permanently.

Their work was well-appreciated in the garage until they had a feud with the garage manager.

They apparently let a fan take pictures with garage owner Richard’s car after which the garage manager started shouting at them, and they shouted back.

This led Rawlings to fire them. After being fired, the two, along with Scott McMillan and Thomas Weeks started a new company called Fired Up Garage.

They also got their own show, Misfit Garage on Discovery Channel, which is ironic enough; executive produced by Richard Rawlings.

The show finished airing its fifth season on November 1, 2017.
