Early Life

Troy was born on 9th June 1961 in Pierre Part, Louisiana, United States. He is a son of Duffy and Myrtle Landry who grew up in a family of crocodile hunters, shrimpers, trappers, lumberjacks, and moss peddlers. Later on, he decided to continue his family business (alligator hunting).


Troy is the 5th generation of Landry’s who have been shrimpers, trappers, fishermen, moss peddlers, lumberjacks, and hunters. He shaped his career in the professional Alligator hunting and commercial seafood business beginning with his childhood. He set his commercial seafood business in 1992.

Troy, pulls in around  5,000,000-6,000,000 pounds of crawfish a year. So, he becomes one of the deadliest alligator hunters and named king of Swamp. In 2010, Troy and his family, among other alligator-hunting families, were selected for the new History Channel series “Swamp People”, which would showcase their actions during the alligator season in the swamps.


Swamp People is a reality TV show which has been a massive hit gaining worldwide. This show has aired more than 207 episodes.
