Sara Evans has married twice in her life, once with politician Craig Schelske and second marriage was to Jay Barker. Her first husband is the father of her three children Avery Jack Schelske, Olivia Margaret Schelske and Audrey Elizabeth Schelske. 

Sara Evans had a bad fallout with her first husband

Sara Evans married Craig Schelske on September 25, 1993. Their first child Avery was born on August 21, 1999.On January 22, 2003, their second child and first daughter Olivia Margaret was born. A year later, Evans again gave birth to their youngest daughter Audrey Elizabeth Schelske on October 6, 2004. Everything was fine in the relationship until 2006 after Evan’s departure from Dancing with the Stars, she filed for a divorce.

She accused Craig of sleeping with many other people including their nanny, misbehavior with their children and verbal abuse. He denied all of her claims and counterclaimed that Evans had been in multiple relationships with other musicians and artists going so far as to point out country singer Kenny Chesney’s name. Chesney’s representative denied the allegation and called it ridiculous.

On September 28 of 2007, the divorce was finalized and Evans was ordered to pay Schelske $500,000 as alimony over a ten year period. Evans also got a restraining order against Craig in 2010 and 2011 which stopped him from making any further comments or statements about their former marriage.

Sara Evans is married for the second time to Jay Barker

On June 14, 2008, Sara Evans was again married to radio host Jay Barker. Jay is a former University of Alabama quarterback and national championship winner. Their marriage was held in Franklin, Tennessee. Evan’s son Avery with her two daughters walked their mother down the aisle. Their seven children were the only attendees of the happy ceremony and the ceremony was performed by Joe Beam, a Christian minister.

They now live in Mountain Brook, Alabama a suburban region of Birmingham with Evan’s three children and Barker’s four children Andrew( Born 1999), Braxton (born 2000) and twins Sarah Ashlee and Harrison ( Born 2001).
