The popular show, Roseanne, has been canceled after a racist tweet by Roseanne Barr.

ABC took this move calling Barr’s tweet, “abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values.”

The actress compared a former senior advisor to Obama, Valerie Jarrett, to an ape.

Her tweet which has since been deleted, stated, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”

She defended her tweet saying Islam is not a race and also told that it was a joke.

She later apologized to Jarrett and also announced that she will be leaving Twitter.

Following the backlash, the consulting producer of ‘Roseanne,’ Wanda Sykes, announced her departure from the show.

Her co-star, Sara Gilbert, who plays the role of her daughter, also condemned Barr’s actions.

A supporter of President Trump, she often makes politically motivated statements on Twitter.

The show which rose to fame in the 80s and the 90s returned to television with a spike in ratings.

As of this video, Barr has not commented on the cancellation of the show.
