NCIS is making a permanent addition to the cast in the wake of Pauley Perrette’s exit. Diona Reasonover, who previously guest-starred as the forensic scientist, Kasie Hines, in three episodes towards the end of season 15 of the CBS procedural, has been promoted to a series regular ahead of season 16.
Pauley Perrette's replacement
CBS TV tweeted alongside a pic of the actress,
Queue @DionaReasonover! We are excited to welcome you full-time to season 16 of #NCIS as the forensic scientist, Kasie Hines!
Reasonover made her debut as Kasie in season 15’s 17th episode, One Man’s Trash, which was the only time she shared a lab with predecessor Abby. She further appeared in final two episodes of the season, after Pauley left in episode 22. As Pauley had already announced her departure at the time, speculations abound after Reasonover’s very first appearance that she would ultimately replace Pauley as a forensic specialist.

Reasonover’s previous TV credits include Grace and Frankie, Future Man, Girls Meets World, and Clipped among others. She has also worked as a writer on Adam Ruins Everything and I Love You, America.
NCIS is set to return with the 16th Season on September 25. And it will be a challenge for Reasonover as Pauley Perrette set the bar pretty high.
