Miranda Cosgrove is an American singer and actor, who started her acting career at an early age of three. She is well-recognized for her portrayal of Summer Hathway in a movie, School of Rock and Meghan Parker in a television sitcom, Drake & Josh.

Miranda Cosgrove was born in Los Angeles, on May 14, 1993, to Tom, who owns a dry cleaning business and Chris, a homemaker. She claims to be Irish-English-French descendent.
Her career as an actor started at the age of three after she was discovered by a talent agent at LA restaurant, Taste of LA. The agent offered her and her mother for modeling, and after accepting the proposal,she appeared in several commercials including, Mcdonalds and Mello Yello, and she also modeled.
Further, her parents are very supportive of her career and to stay close to her family and manage work, she was home schooled from sixth grade. Moving on, she enrolled at University of Southern California (USC) in 2011.

At a young age of seven, she decided that she would pursue her career in acting and she started auditioning for theater and television roles. She made her first television debut in 2001, as the voice of 5 years old, Lana Lang in the pilot episode of Smallville.
It was 2003, when she made her film debut with Jack Black. She played ambitious Summer Hathaway in 2003 commercial hit School of Rock. The movie was not only groundbreaking for Miranda, but the film itself was a hit which grossed over $131,282,949 worldwide. Not only wide acclaim, but the movie also earned her a significant TV role as a mischievous younger sister, Megan Parker in Drake & Josh.

The same year, she also earned her major role in the comedy film, Yours, Mine and Ours, where she portrayed the role of Joni. Later in 2006, she starred in theatrical release, Keeping up with the Steins. In September 2007, Miranda starred in her sitcom, iCarly.
The show gained popularity when fans could get their videos published in the show. In no time, extended episode of iCarly Saves TV became one of the most-viewed. The show aired it’s the seventh season in 2012, which was the final season. In 2010, she lent her voice in Universal Studios animated movie, Despicable Me.
Since 2013, Miranda has been actively pursuing her acting commitments. She again voiced in Despicable Me 2 in 2013, and A Mouse Tale in 2014. Further, in 2015, she starred in a horror genre, The Intruders. She also starred in NBC comedy sitcom, Crowded, but sadly the show got canceled after airing its first season.
In 2017, she was heard as Margo in Despicable Me 3. In March 2017, she was cast in a pilot episode of NBC comedy, Spaced out, but she did not appear in the series after.
