Miles Heizer is an up and coming American actor and musician, best known for playing Alex Standall in the hit Netflix original series,13 Reasons Why. He is one of the reason why Hannah Baker (played by Katherine Langford) committed suicide. His most remarkable film appearance was in the 2007 movie Rails & Ties, in which he played the character named Davey Danner.
Started off acting from the very young age
Miles Heizer was born in Greenville, Kentucky, on May 16, 1994. His mother is a nurse and has an older sister, Moriah. His family moved to Los Angeles when he was ten years old.
Starting off acting career at the very young age, he made his debut in CSI: Miami in the episode titled, Nothing to Lose as Joey Everton. The following year, he made his movie debut in short film, Paramedic as Young James. He further guest-starred in episodes of Ghost Whisperer, Shark, Bones, and Private Practice.
In 2007, Miles Heizer played the role of Davey Danner in the film Rails & Ties. For his remarkable performance, he earned the Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actor in a Feature Film. In 2010, Miles Heizer was cast as Drew Holt, the son of Lauren Graham’s character, on the NBC drama series Parenthood. He worked alongside his real-life best friend Mae Whitman, who played her sister Amber Holt, until the series’ end in 2015.
Heizer co-starred as Josh in the film Rudderless in 2013. In 2015, he performed a supporting role of Marshall Lovett in the drama-thriller film The Stanford Prison Experiment, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26.
