Melissa Rauch and her husband Winston Beigel are pregnant! The Big Bang Theory actress penned a heartfelt essay for Glamour on Tuesday, where she revealed the happy news and also reflected on her past miscarriage.
Melissa Rauch opens up about her miscarriage
Rauch had suffered a miscarriage the last time she was pregnant. She revealed that it was among the “most profound sorrows” that she had experienced in life and triggered a primal depression in her.
“The image of our baby on the ultrasound monitor—without movement, without a heartbeat—after we had seen that same little heart healthy and flickering just two weeks prior completely blindsided us and haunts me to this day. I kept waiting for the sadness to lift...but it didn’t,” wrote Rauch.
In the essay, she lamented that she knew she could have done nothing to prevent the unfortunate event, however, she couldn’t help but think if there was something she did that might’ve caused it.
Melissa Rauch is “grateful” for her pregnancy
Rauch ended the essay on a hopeful note. She wrote, “If you are dealing with prenatal loss, I hope you find something, anything, to bring you comfort (whether it’s planting a tree, having a small ceremony, or giving a big double middle finger to the universe).”
She admitted that her miscarriage has changed her forever and that has made her “grateful for every moment” of her pregnancy.
So all the women out there who are dealing with fertility issues, have gone through a miscarriage or are going through the pain of it currently, allow me to leave you with this message: You are not alone. And, it is perfectly OK to not be OK right now.- Melissa Rauch
