That same year in December, he released his second mixtape Pistol P Project. It was a surprise release that boasted ten different tracks like Quick and Easy, Where I Reside, Jugghouse, Nothing At All and others. It has since been downloaded more than 125,000 times on DatPiff & over 575,000 times on Spinrilla.

It was in August 2015, he made his third mixtape Ballin Like I’m Kobe available online. The mixtape, which was an honor to his fallen friend Jacobi D. Herring saw its official release in September. Praised to be his most focused piece of work till date, it has since been downloaded over 260,000 times through DatPiff.

He inked a contract with Cinematic Music Group in September 2015 and it was then, he changed his rap moniker from Lil Herb to G Herbo. He came out with his 4th mixtape Strictly 4 My Friends on November 24, 2016.

G Herbo and Lil Bibby’s collaborations

A release of hit song called Kill Shit, which was an instant YouTube hit in 2012 marked the remarkable start of his career in music. Collaborating with a fellow rapper Lil Bibby, he began cementing his place in the music scene in 2010.

Since then, the two have released a number of records together including, Shout Out, Know Somethin, They Know Us, Game Over and Ain’t Heart Nuthin Bout You, among others. Lil Herb and Lil Bibby, who are associated with the family N.L.M.B, were referred to as “the future” by Canadian rapper, Drake.

He contributed to Chief Keef’s Faneto (remix) with Lil Bibby and King Louise in April 2015.
