Hip-hop artist French Montana

French Montana is an American hip-hop recording artist. He is a founder of Coke Boy Records and Cocaine City Records. 

Known as one of the biggest names in the hip-hop music industry lately, he has been found frequently collaborating with record producer Harry Fraud and rappers Max B, Rick Ross and Diddy. Made his mixtape debut in 2007, he went on to release his first studio album entitled Excuse My French in 2013. 

Some of his breakthrough singles like Choppa Choppa Down and Shot Caller are enough to make him one of the in-demand hip-hop artists of this generation. Rapper, singer, and songwriter by profession, he has been winning over millions of hearts through his powerful vocals. He has been nominated for Grammy Awards thrice for his best rap performance. Also, he has earned several other music awards including Best Club Banger, Best Collabo, Duo or Group and more.

As Karim Kharbouch, he was born in Rabat, Morocco on 9th November 1984 to Khadija Guled and Abdela Kharbouch. Grew up outside Casablanca, he lived there until age 13 when he moved to New York City with his parents and younger brother Zack, ultimately settling down in The South Bronx. 

Growing up, Montana was consumed with rap and soccer, which he describes as his best hobbies. Later in his teens, he got into basketball as well. After moving to the U.S., he could speak only French and Arabic, so he was nicknamed as “French” that later became his stage name. He learned English in the Bronx high schools. 

After few years in New York City, his dad decided to move back to their native land, but his mom insisted on staying there with the kids. His youngest brother Ayoub was born after his dad departed for Morocco. Finally, the 17-year-old French became a responsible person, whom his younger brothers and mom could depend upon. 

In 2003, Montana survived a gunshot to his head. He was married to Deen Kharbouch in 2007 and the couple welcomed a son together in 2009. However, the duo’s cordiality ended by 2012, when they separated. Divorce was finalized in 2014. 

After the end of his marriage, reportedly he has been involved with numerous ladies including French-Canadian model Sophia Body, American rapper, Trina (who was signed to his Coke Boys label) and Khloe Kardashian. Moreover, he allegedly dated Dorothy Wang.
