Dante Daniel Bonaduce, widely known by the name of Danny, is an American television and radio personality. His role in the famous musical sitcom, The Partridge Family as the red-headed little boy is the most celebrated performance of his career.

Early career details

Danny Bonaduce was born in Broomall, Pennsylvania on August 13, 1959, as the descendant of famous TV writer and producer, Joseph Bonaduce. He grew up with a lot of conflicts and misbehavior as a kid and had to suffer grievous abuse at the hands of his father. His mother, Betty Bonaduce tried to keep the peace between father and son but her attempts were usually ineffective.

Danny started his career at the age of 10 with small appearances in television commercials and shows. Later in 1970, he starred in the television series, The Partridge Family. He played as a wise cracking middle child of a musical family with four other siblings starred by Susan Dey, David Cassidy, Jeremy Gelbwaks, and Suzanne Crough raised by widowed mother Shirley Jones.

For the remarkable performance in the series, Danny was later honored by the Young Artist Foundation by its Former Child Star “Lifetime Achievement” Award .

Additionally, he went on to appear on the television shows like The Drew Carey Show, CHiPs, , Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Married… with Children. He was also featured in many films among which Corvette Summer is considered to be his most memorable work.

Despite the rising fame, Danny had to battle drug and alcohol addiction in his late teens and early twenties. His addiction even led him to the homelessness at one point of his career.

Battling the drug obsession, Danny started his career as a radio host at Philadelphia’s WEGX-FM in the late 80’s. After few years, he went on to host the syndicated talk show, Danny!  and also hosted his own radio show named The Danny Bonaduce Show.

The man behind the famous character was Danny Bonaduce, then 10-year-old child actor.

Danny was born on August 13, 1959, in Broomall, Pennsylvania, U.S. to TV writer and producer, Joseph Bonaduce.

He grew up in a dysfunctional family and suffered severe physical and emotional abuses from his father, though his mother tried to maintain peace.

He started at the age of 10 on ‘The Partridge Family’ and garnered a huge fan base playing the bass guitar player in the series.

Along with David Cassidy, Shirley Jones and Susan Dey, he was one of the highlighting cast members of the 70s’ popular series.

He and David remained good friends before he died on November 21, 2017. 

Danny got into drug addiction and saw a period of homelessness in his late teens and twenties.

He became an on-air radio personality in the late 1980s and has since worked as a media personality.

In 1994, he made his professional wrestling debut against Christopher Knight at Rosemont Horizon and won the match.

He was a key player in Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Wrestling Championship.

In 1985, he married Setsuko Hattori, a Japanese real estate agent. The marriage lasted three years. 

On Nov. 4, 1990, he met his second wife, Gretchen Hillmer on a  blind date and married her the same day. 

The couple welcomed two children, Isabella and Dante before they divorced citing irreconcilable differences after 16 years of marriage.

In April 2007, he met his current wife, Amy Railsback at a Starbucks and the two married in November 2010.

Currently, he is active on social media and has been entertaining people in various ways.
