Cristina Greeven Cuomo (born 1970) in a famous media personality, who has been cited as one of the nation’s most experienced luxury magazine editors. She has recently started her new glossy magazine Hamptons Purist. She has been in the limelight since she got married to a news anchor Chris Cuomo in 2001.
She was born and raised in Southampton and graduated from the Cornell University in 1992.
Cristina Greeven has been a lifestyle magazines’ editor for over two decades
Christina Greeven Cuomo joined Niche Media LLC as a Vice-Chairman in 2001. Before that, she founded and ran lifestyle magazine called Manhattan File as a publisher and editor-in-chief for 7 years and also served the position for its offshoots, Vegas File and Hamptons File.
Niche Media CEO named her as the editorial director of Gotham and Hamptons magazines in 2008. Alongside being a Vice-chairman, she was also a part-owner at Niche. She worked closely with all departments, including marketing, event promotions, editorial branding, and advertising.
She was named and editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Media’s Manhattan magazine on June 27, 2012. She also served as the editor of Beach for a long time until she along with the entire editorial staffs were dismissed by Modern Luxury’s president Michael Dickey in November 2016. Previously, she also worked as content chief for Plum Network and as editor-in-chief for Plum Hamptons magazine.
Cristina Greeven is building her own media business
Cuomo has recently launched a new luxury magazine Hamptons Purist. The first issue was released during the Memorial Day weekend in May. The digital version of the magazine, ThePuristOnline is currently in beta.
Further two issues of the magazine were launched, one on July 4 and another just before Labor Day. Wellness worshipper, Cuomo explained her editorial mission, saying, “Wellness the new luxury. We make choices every day in style, culture, design, fitness, and food – and wellness is at the center of them all. Wellness is no longer an indulgence – it’s a way of life – and good health is our principal asset.”
In April 2017, Modern Luxury Media bought rival GreenGale Publishing (formerly Niche Media) and also announced that Modern Luxury Media’s Beach magazine will emphasize on health and wellness coverage. Cuomo claimed that Modern Luxury was copying her idea.
Currently, she also hosts PBS show, Best Place to Live, where she takes viewers through the vibrant communities across Long Island and explains how each of those locales has been the best places to live.
Christina Greeven Cuomo shares three children with husband Chris Cuomo
Christina Greeven exchanged her wedding vows with the youngest son of the former governor Cris Cuomo in a Catholic ceremony at the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church on November 24, 2001.
Greenven, who was then an editor of Manhattan File magazine had put her then-boyfriend, on her magazine’s list of ‘Top 100 Most Eligible Bachelors.’
Among the guests in the ceremony were Chris’s 20/20 co-host Diane Sawyer, The View co-host Lisa Ling, actress, Lori Singer and others. Both the bride and groom’s parents were happy to see the heaven-made couple exchanging vows.
Happily married for 17 years, they are now proud parents of three children, including two daughters and a son. Their eldest child, Bella was born in 2002, which followed the birth of their son, Mario in 2005. The couple welcomed their third child, Carolina in 2010.
