Alex Gaskarth is an English-American musician and podcast host, best recognized as the lead vocalist of rock band All Time Low. The 29-year-old pop punk and pop rock singer has been associated with the band since it was founded in 2003.

An Essex, United Kingdom native, Alexander William “Alex” Gaskarth was born on 14 December 1987 to Isobel and Peter Gaskarth. He has two half-sisters named Jillian and Helen. He also had an elder half-brother named Tom who committed suicide at the age of 21. Alex and his family shifted to Baltimore, Maryland, US, in 1993.

The formation of All Time Low and its journey

Alex Gaskarth was in grade eight when he first teamed up with All Time Low in 2003. Before this, he was a member of a band called Crew Fighters with whom he performed various cover songs. 

Not long after joining the Crew Fighters, Alex met Jack Barakat, the lead guitarist of All Time Low, who persuaded him to join the band. The band was completed when Zack Merrick (bassist) and Rian Dawson (drummer) also left the Crew Fighters to enter All Time Low.

The band released its first album, an EP entitled The Three Words to Remember in Dealing with the End in 2004. A year later, they released their debut studio album, The Party Scene.

Till date, the band has released six more studio albums, namely So Wrong, It’s Right, Nothing Personal, Dirty Work, Don’t Panic, Future Hearts and Last Young Renegade. They have worked with various labels like Emerald Moon Records, Hopeless Records and Fueled by Ramen.
