Dean Johnson is a contractor who is widely famous for his work in the home improvement TV series, Hometime.

He was born in 1952 in Mankato, Minnesota and grew up in Edina, Minnesota.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in accounting, he worked as a cost accountant, sales representative, and independent builder.

Dean launched Hometime Video Publishing Inc. in 1984 to provide do-it-yourself videos with a new source of how-to information.

‘Hometime‘ began airing on the Learning Channel in 1992, and in 2001 it went into syndication.

Dean is married to his high school sweetheart, Kathi and has two children with her.
