Mythbusters’ mistress of metal, Scottie Chapman, was born in Virginia Beach, 1971 and grew up in Maryland.

She was called the mistress of metal for her work with welding, machining, and metal fabrication.

Scottie was also known for her tattoos which was used as a myth investigation in one episode.

She later departed from the Mythbusters after the third season.

She revealed on her Myspace blog that she would not be back as a regular.

She was not comfortable with recognition and fame that Mythbusters brought her and left the show to get her life back.

But Scottie went on to appear in Mythbusters as a guest builder in two different episodes,  “Supersize Rocket Car” and “Great Ice Debate”.

She also appeared on two episodes of Monster Garage.

Scottie is passionate about snowboarding and loves gardening.

She even raised two squirrels who’d visit her backyard every morning for breakfast.

After leaving Mythbusters, Scottie went back to school to study Dental Hygiene.

She earned her A.S. in Dental Hygiene from Diablo Valley College in 2013.

As of now, she works to help improve her patient’s oral health, but she still gets her hand dirty every weekend by welding and fabricating metal.

She believes that metal fabrication will be a part of her life.

Though details of her relationship status are shady, she recently posted a video of two children playing in the pool and also a photo with caption ‘three generations.’

With the information, we can infer that she is married and now has children of her own. She also owns a dog named Pasha.
