Scott McGillivray is a Canadian real estate investor, television host, financial expert, contractor, writer, public speaker and educator. His net worth has been accumulated to be around $4 million dollars which makes him one of the richest celebrities of present time. McGillivray is the award winning host and executive producer of hit series Income Property, a home renovation show on Home & Garden Television (HGTV) in United States and Canada. He is a judge on HGTV's All American Handyman with Mike Holmes and Canada's Handyman Challenge along with Mike Holmes, Bryan Baeumler and Paul LaFrance.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Scott McGillivray, graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Marketing Management. He began studying carpentry soon after graduation and was first featured as part of the show "From the Ground Up with Debbie Travis". Scott McGillivray attended the University of Guelph where he received an honours degree in Commerce in 2001. What began as a school project about income properties developed into a unique and strategic business model that Scott would later execute himself. At 21, Scott purchased and renovated his first rental property and owned 5 rental properties by the time he was 23. He became a licensed contractor in 2004 to manage his own crews and address the challenge of finding responsible trades to renovate his investments. He has now built a real estate empire with properties across Canada and the United States housing hundreds of tenants. He is currently the host of the popular Home and Garden Television show, "Income Property". The program, which is currently in its fourth season, helps one family each episode, by designing and building a rental unit onto their home, so that they can better manage their mortgage payments. He can also be seen on the program, "All American Handyman", where he serves as a co-presenter, and he judges the Canadian home improvement competition series, "Canada's Handyman Challenge". He currently lives in Brampton, Ontario, and he and his wife just welcomed their first child into the world in January 2012.
