Hayley Atwell was cast in a commercial before she graduated
Hayley Atwell was born in London as the only child to her American father Grant and British mother Allison. She attended the London Oratory School and graduated with an A-levels degree. She then took two years off from her studies and traveled to the U.S., where her father resided.
She was working for a casting director, and before joining the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she got her first onscreen role in a TV commercial for Pringles Potato Chips. She used her earning to pay her tuition for the first year. She graduated from the school in 2005 and was ready to contribute to the film industry.

Atwell got her first part in a movie just after eight months of graduating from Guildhall School. She was cast in Woody Allen's 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream where she played the role of Angela Stark.
Shortly after that, in 2008, she played in the movie The Duchess as Bess Foster and also acted in the Miramax movie Brideshead Revisited as Lady Julia Flyte. In January of 2009, Hayley was cast in Lindsay Posner's revival of A View From The Bridge at the Duke of York's Theater.
2011 was a good year for Hayley's career as she went on to play the role of Agent Peggy Carter in the movie Captain America: The First Avenger alongside Chris Evans as one of the major characters. She then reprised the role in other Marvel movies like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. She quickly became a fan favorite and went on to land the role in the television series, Agent Carter.
In February 2016, she was selected to star in a new show for ABC named Conviction for which a pilot was already made. Sadly, on November 8 of 2016, ABC announced that the show will not be continued and it was officially canceled on May 11, 2017.
It wasn't that big of a problem for Hayley as she had already earned a huge net worth and a devoted fan base from her previous successes. She earned almost $500,000 for her part in the movie Ant-Man, and Agent Carter managed to fetch her around $300,000. Most importantly, she has huge fan followers and has more than 142K followers on Instagram alone.
