Fran Drescher was married to her college sweetheart Peter Marc Jacobson in 1978 at the age of 21. They do not share any child together. The love story ended in divorce and they parted their ways in 1999.

Jacobson came out as gay soon after their divorce. Drescher and Jacobson remain good friends and are business partners. They starred together on the reality show Happily Divorced on TV Land.
