The Trump administration has introduced new travel restrictions on people from countries like Chad, Iran, North Korea, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen. The President took to Twitter to announce that the United States will not admit foreigners from these countries that they “cannot safely vet.”
“Making America Safe is my number one priority. We will not admit those into our country we cannot safely vet,” Trump tweeted right after the administration released the official statement of the new restrictions on Sunday night.

In the statement, the White House called the new rule a “critical step toward establishing an immigration system that protects Americans’ safety and security in an era of dangerous terrorism and transnational crime.”
For the past three months, the Trump-Pence administration used an executive order to ban foreigners from six Muslim countries unless they are in a “bona fide” relationship with an American citizen or entity in the States. These countries included Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Syria and Iran.
