The collapse of the Twin Towers destroyed the rest of the World Trade Center complex. The debris from the collapsing towers damaged more than a dozen neighboring buildings. The South Tower collapsed at 9:59 am, less than an hour of being hit by the second plane while the North Tower stood until 10:28 am.
