Ami Brown stars on the Discovery reality series, Alaskan Bush People with her husband and their children. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017. In an interview with People, the 53-year-old opened up about how she remained optimistic, even though she only had a very little chance at survival.
Ami said,
I realized early into this that it’s very easy to want to give up and just die. And on the pessimist side, it could be my last days”. She added, “But I have the will to fight. Worrying about it only makes it worse. There is hope and that hope is having faith in God. You can’t give up. I tell people be happy. Just be happy. It’s a choice. Things can be hard and you just want to curl up but you have to shine.
Momma Brown has successfully completed her chemotherapy. After multiple treatments and chemotherapy, she weighs only 77 lbs. She is not 100% cancer-free but she is in remission now, and hopefully live a long life.
Upon news that Ami has recovered, fans started questioning if she was really sick. Fans of the hit Discovery reality show are arguing whether it was all for the ratings, as stage IV cancer is not exactly curable.

Discovery confirmed that Alaskan Bush People is coming back with a new season. On May 12, Rain Brown posted a picture from the set on her Instagram account with a caption, “Rule number one of audio? Sit where the sittin’s good”. This could be a hint that she might also be producing the upcoming season.
Whatever the case maybe, it looks like all the Browns are okay since they are set to pop up on our screens. The show airs on Discovery Channel, but the network is yet to announce its release date.

Alaskan Bush People’ fans, breathe a sigh of relief! It is confirmed that your favorite show will return with season 8.
According to Radar Online, Discovery Channel spokesperson, Laurie Goldberg, told that the series hasn’t been canceled.
Goldberg assured that the filming for season 8 is underway and the season premiere was pushed back from May due to multiple circumstances.
The famous Brown family featured in the show are staying at a half million worth lakeside mansion in Washington.
The property they have purchased for the new season filming is extremely remote and not easily accessible during the winter.
Another major reason that is delaying the season premiere is severe health issues that several members of the family have been through recently.
Reportedly, Noah, 24, who is supposedly living away from the family had emergency gallbladder surgery.
And, his elder brother, Gabe, has had an awful flu-like illness for weeks.
Moreover, the family matriarch, who struggled with stage 4 lung cancer, reportedly has her illness back.
After nearly a year-long battle, Ami was declared cancer-free in December 2017.
However, after she was spotted at the UCLA medical center, where she underwent treatment previously, rumors surfaced that her cancer has returned.
Reports have it that Ami is still frail, but is doing alright. She will surely show up in the upcoming season.
The 54 years old star hasn’t given up on her battle with health issues and has the will to fight.
Now, it’s confirmed that Ami, Billy and all of their children, including Noah, are excited to be filming for the new season.
