Growing up, Zen Gesner was inclined to music however, he followed his actress mother’s footsteps. Before finding his foothold in the American film industry, Gesner began his acting career as a stage performer and joined The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in order to broaden his knowledge and experience. While at LAMDA, he was part of plays like Richard III, The Cherry Orchard, and Anything Goes. Apart from acting, he also learned poetry and archery. 



He got his big break in the film industry through the 1994 comedy flick Dumb and Dumber. Besides this, he also made his music video debut in the same year when he appeared in Chris Isaak's Somebody’s Crying. 

Gesner went through several auditions and screen tests before acquiring a career-defining role in the fantasy television series, The Adventures of Sinbad. The series aired for two years, from 1996 to 1998. The series, in which Gesner portrayed the lead character, provided him with an immense career exposure. After the series came to its conclusion, Gesner appeared in TV series like Friends and All My Children. 

In his later career, the actor appeared in several movies, which helped him maintain the fame he accumulated from his television career. Kingpin (1996), Legend of Phantom Rider (2002), Boat Trip (2002), The Ringer (2005)and Hall Pass (2011) are some of the movies of which the actor has been a part of.

His dedication towards his profession and his versatility makes him one of the most celebrated names in Hollywood. Popularity is not only the thing that Gesner has obtained from his career. The actor must have also acquired a satisfying net worth from his career. Sources have presented varied reports about his net worth but the actual amount is yet to be disclosed.
