Charlie Sheen is set to tour two cities in the land down under on November 3 and 4 and people are not welcoming him wholeheartedly. An activist group, Collective Shout, is campaigning to revoke Sheen’s visa.

Charlie Sheen is not welcome in Australia

The group took to Twitter to voice their dissatisfaction to Immigration minister David Coleman about the tour. Meanwhile, Tom Meagher, husband of rape and murder victim Jill Meagher, also asked similar question to Coleman via Twitter. The group also posted another longer quote.

“If … we believe it is appropriate to welcome a serial violent offender like Sheen to an arena where he is applauded, celebrated and speaks unchallenged, it is difficult to believe that this is a country that takes the job of ending its epidemic of male violence against women seriously.

Coleman’s spokesperson told that the minister would not comment on individual cases. A Department of Home Affairs spokesperson told, “All non-citizens entering Australia must meet the character requirements set out in the Migration Act 1958, prior to the grant of any visa.”

The group has been posting regularly on Twitter about Sheen’s appearance in Australia. They penned an open letter to Coleman on their website. Sheen pleaded guilty for assaulting Brooke Mueller, his then-wife in August 2010.
