Sally gave birth to her first-born, Peter Craig, at 23. With her first husband Steven Craig, Sally has a second son named Elijah M. Craig. However, Sally’s marriage took turns for the worst and the couple separated in 1975; her second son was just three years old then. Sally got married for the second time with Alan Griesman in 1984. Sally had her youngest, Samuel, at age 41.
In an open letter, Sally remarked that her family is the biggest source of her inspiration. She suggested that his youngest son coming out a gay was not a problem at all. He has his “own list of talents and accomplishments”, she said. In a powerful memoir, she recalled that she had “to wait for him to own himself in his own time”. For it was not her journey. What she did do, however, was made “it easier [for Sam] by standing visibly to the side, clearly loving him, always being there and always letting him know.”
Sally’s parenting experiences made her an LGBT rights activist. Her testimonials continue to inspire millions. She even won a 2012 Human Rights Campaign's Ally for Equality Award. She is also a firm advocate of anti-war sentiments and women issues.
On a different note, though, why is it that Sally at 70 looks youthful and normal women of her age do not? Turns out if you are rich and have few titles under your name, you can challenge your aging. Sally is believed to have undergone few different plastic surgeries, including the facelift, necklift and botox.
