Rachael Ray’s early career details

Rachael Ray was born on 25th August 1968 in Glen Falls, New York.She was raised in Lake George, New York. She grew up in the family involved in the cooking business. Her mother is of Italian descent and her father’s ancestry is French, Scottish and Welsh. She is younger to her sister Maria Betar and elder to brother Emmanuel.

 

She moved to New York City in 1995. She first started her work at the Marcy’s Marketplace candy counter. Later, she left her job there and moved on to a specialty foods store, Agata & Valentina.

Further, moving on to work in the places like Mister Brown’s Pub at The Sagamore and Cowan & Lobel. During her time in Cowan & Lobel, she was able to discover her 30 Minute Meals classes which were later picked by several local newscasts. 

In 1999, she even published her book 30 Minute Meals. With her growing popularity from the book and other radio & TV appearance made led her to a contract with Food Network in 2001.

Rachael Ray started hosting the show 30 Minutes Meal in 2001. She hosted the show for 12 seasons which ended in 2012. She began hosting her own nationally syndicated daytime talk show, Rachael Ray which was premiered on September 18, 2006. As of 2017, the show is in its 12th season.

She started hosting the show Rachael’s Vacation on January 12, 2008. She even served as a television executive producer of the short-lived show, Viva Daisy!. Other than her cooking skills, she is also popular for using several catchphrases. In 2007, The Oxford American College Dictionary even added the term ‘EVOO’ used as a short form of Extra-virgin Olive Oil and credited her with the coining phrase. Further, she along with Guy Fieri ran the reality series, Rachael vs Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off in January 2012.

Along with her work in several shows, she has also been featured in magazines. In 2003, she was featured in the cover picture of the men’s magazine FHM. She is also an editor in chief of her own lifestyle magazine Every Day with Rachael Ray which was launched by The Reader’s Digest Association. 

In addition to her work in authoring a book, hosting shows, and endorsing products, which has helped a lot, to sum up, her increasing net worth, she has also taken some time out of her busy schedule in charity.

Rachael Ray’s married life with her husband, John Cusimano

She married Cusimano, an American lawyer and also a frontman of a rock band The Cringe in 2005. The two started dating after they first met in the friend’s birthday party.
