Broadway sensation, Phillipa Soo is best known for Hamilton

Making waves on Broadway since her July 2015 debut in American musical Hamilton, originating the role of Elizabeth Schuyler was her first biggest moment and the part audience completely fell in love with. The role even got her nominated for 2016 Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical. She has portrayed the respective character on stages of The Public Theater and Richard Rodgers Theater.

Also known for playing the role of Natasha Rostova in numerous New York productions of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, it was after her graduation in 2012 when she landed the respective role in Ars Nova production. Following her performance in that play, director Thomas Kail asked her to appear in musical Hamilton in a leading role as Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton. The role was played by Soo for the last time on July 9, 2016.

Phillipa is currently reserved to play the lead role in a pre-Broadway session of musical Amelie. The play is scheduled to be performed at Ahmanson Theater from December 2016 to January 2017. It will be later showed at Walter Kerr Theater.

In addition to her acting career, she has appeared in movies and tv shows including NBC’s Smash and Dangerous Liaisons. She has also worked as a voice actress in the animated Disney film Moana.
