A prominent face in television industry, Mike Greenberg was born as Mike Darrow Greenberg on 6th August 1967 in New York, United States. He was born in a Jewish family to writers, Harriet Greenberg and Arnold Greenberg. Firstly attended United Nations International School, he completed his graduation from Stuyvesant High School in 1985. Furthering his studies, Mike Greenberg joined North-Western University from where he graduated with a degree in Journalism in 1989.

Mike wasted no time in choosing his career field as he started working as a reporter for WMAQ-AM quickly after graduation. During his early days as a reporter it was all about gaining experience and honing his skills. In pursuit of seeking the experience and knowledge he briefly joined WSCR in 1992, from where he reported World Series and Super bowl. A short spell with Sports Channel Chicago and CLTV was added to his experience before joining ESPN in 1996.
