The award winning American television meteorologist and storm chaser, Mike Bettes, was born on December 28, 1983. He was born and raised in Tallmadge, Ohio, United States. Currently, he works as the co-host of AMHQ: America’s Morning Headquarters at The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia. He joined The Weather Channel in 2003 and has been with it ever since. He also serves as the fill in anchor for The Today Show. He is a field reporter for TWC and is also the lead field meteorologist for, The Great Tornado Hunt, the channel’s annual show summarizing tornado seasons. He hosted various programs for TWC such as Your Weather Today, Morning Rush, Weather Center Live, Abrams & Bettes: Beyond the Forecast, among others. He reported live from hurricanes such as Sandy and Katrina. Before his association with The Weather Channel, he had worked as a weekend meteorologist at WSYX/WTTE, Columbus, Ohio, until 1998 and as chief meteorologist at WLOS, Ashville, North Carolina, from 1998 to 2003.
