Mika Brzezinski's books are a must-read for women in the workplace. The New York Times best selling author has published five books so far among which 2010's Knowing Your Value: Women: Money and Getting What You're Worth and 2015's Grow Your Value: Living and Working to Your Full Potential have received rave reviews from her female audience.

Women have long been undervalued in the workplace in comparison to their male counterparts. Mika's book, Knowing Your Value, has been inspired by her experiences on the show Morning Joe and contains interviews with a number of acclaimed women in business. She reveals that she was earning 14 times less than her male co-host, Joe Scarborough, which almost prompted her departure from the show.

Giving an account of her own years-long struggle for a higher pay, Mika urges women to know their value and ask for their well-deserved raise without being apologetic. Taking about her book at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, she said, "What you want to become is someone who is fearless, aggressive, fierce, effective, and really good at what she does. How do you get there? By being tough, working for excellence, and paying your dues."

Her book inspired a nationwide event called Know Your Value, where Mika conducts panel discussions and provides resources for women to empower themselves in the workplace.
