American Idol provided Kellie Pickler with the platform to showcase talents and Pickler made the most out of that opportunity. Although she failed to win the competition, she created a buzz in the music industry. Pickler’s charming personality had made a lasting impression on her fans.
In 2006, she signed a deal with 19 Recordings and launched her first single Red High Heels, which earned her a Breakthrough Video of the Year nomination at the CMT Music Awards. In October of that year, she released her debut album Small Town Girl, which sold a total of 79000 copies in its first week.
Pickler won the Songwriter Award at the ASCAP Awards for Red High Heels in 2007. Besides that, she also received a nomination for the Top New Female Vocalist at Academy of Country Music Awards. The album expressed the tragedies that the singer suffered while in her childhood. Her song I Wonder expressed the difficult relationship she had with her mother. She sang it at the 2007 CMA Awards in tears, after which she received a standing ovation.
Pickler’s second offering to the music world came in September 2008 when she released her second studio album, Kellie Pickler. It sold a total of 43,000 copies in its first week. She performed her lead single from her second album, Don’t You Know You Are Beautiful, at the ACM Awards, where she was nominated for a Top New Female Vocalist Award, which eventually went to her close friend, Taylor Swift.
Other notable songs from her second include Don’t You Know How Much I Love You and Makin’ Me Fall In Love Again. Although she failed to win any awards for her second album she was nominated in various categories including New Artist of The Year and Female Video of The Year.
Pickler’s released her third album 100 Proof on 24th January 2012. The album had Tough as its lead single, which peaked at 30th position in Hot Country Charts. The album peaked 7th on Billboard Hot 200 and 2nd on Top Country Albums chart.
The singer released her fourth album The Woman I Am on November 11, 2013. Someone Somewhere Tonight was released on 14th May 2013 as the album's lead single, which was followed by Little Bit Gypsy on 19th August 2013. Her fourth album sold a total of 16,000 copies and made its debut at number 19 on the Billboard 200 and number 4 on Top Country Albums Charts.
