In 1992, at the age of 11, Isaac Hanson, started the band along with his two younger brothers. When the band was formed, Taylor was nine and Zac was mere six years old.
Before shortening the name of their band to ‘Hanson,’ the trio was known as Hanson Brothers.
They released their debut album, Middle of Nowhere, in 1997. The lead single, MMMBop, from the album, became phenomenally successful. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts, reaching number one in 27 countries including the States. The album was later nominated in three categories in the Grammys. In the process, Zac, then 12, became the second youngest person ever to be nominated for a Grammy.
The eldest of the three, Isaac, was the lead vocalist of the group, while Taylor was on keyboards. Despite being the youngest, Zac mastered the craft of drumming at a very young age. In 2007, the band introduced two new musicians, Dimitrius Collins and Andrew Perusi and both of them have been touring with it ever since.
Hanson has sold over 16 million records so far. In 2003, the band started their independent record label, 3CG Records. The band has released six studio albums which include their record-breaking debut-album, Middle of Nowhere, This Time Around, Underneath, The Walk, Shout It Out, and Anthem.
Isaac married Nicole Dufresne in 2006, after they met at a Hanson concert in New Orleans. The couple parents three children. Likewise, Taylor also met his wife, Natalie Bryant, during one of their tours. They have been married since 2002 and have five children together. Father of four, Zac married Kate Tucker in June 2006.
Through their music career, each of the brothers has banked hansome net worth to their name, $20 million each. The phrase, share it with your brother, does not get any better than this.
Lately, Isaac has been struggling with health issues, including thoracic outlet syndrome. In 2007, he underwent successful surgery for pulmonary embolism, for which the group had to cancel their “The Walk Tour” in Nashville.
They are also trying their best to ease the poverty across Africa. In 2006, the band recorded and performed the song, Great Divide. The song was released on iTunes in the UK and the U.S.and all the earning from the online purchase went to the Perinatal HIV Research Unit in Soweto, South Africa. Collaborating with the manufacturing company, Toms Shoes, in 2007, the band donated a pair of shoe in Africa for every pair of the shoe sold.
