What happened to Greg Kelly? Why did he leave Fox 5?

Greg Kelly is an American broadcast journalist, who worked for Fox News for fourteen long years until September 2017.

He co-hosted the show, Good Day New York on Fox 5 for nine years, so, his sudden departure has shocked fans.

Viewers were quite used to his and his co-host, Rosanna Scotto’s chemistry on screen.

He has been replaced by longtime Eyewitness News host, Lori Stokes, on Good Day New York.

In the past, he also co-hosted ‘Fox and Friends’ and served as a White House correspondent for Fox News.

Greg is also a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

Gregory Raymond Kelly was born on December 17, 1968, to NYC Police Commissioner, Raymond W. Kelly. 

He started his journalism career as a morning news anchor at ABC affiliate WIVT-TV in Binghamton, New York.

While at WIVT-TV, he secured an exclusive interview with then US President, Bill Clinton.

Later, he served as a political reporter for NY1, where he covered 2001 mayoral campaign and Ground Zero on September 11, 2001.

He joined Fox News in 2003 and was an embedded reporter with the US Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade, during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He was the first TV journalist to broadcast live pictures of military forces from Baghdad on 5th April 2003.

He traveled to Gaza, Pakistan, UAE, Kuwait, and Iraq numerous times with the reporting assignments.

The New York native is currently engaged to Judith Gray, an Australian creative director.

It was announced in summer of 2017 that Kelly and Judith are planning a wedding this fall.
