Shannon Bream had her career crisis at age 30 when she decided to leave her law career to break into the journalism and eventually started from the bottom- as an intern. On that note, she said with a big smile “I was ‘Grandma Intern’”.
But the anchor of ‘America’s New Headquarters’ and Supreme Court reporter for Fox News Channel isn’t shy when it comes to acknowledging her guilty pleasure.
It was in 2000 when Shannon decided to switch her career choice and embark on becoming a part of television news. Initially, she started as an intern and next was an entry-level script writing job at WFTS-TV (ABC news affiliate network).
And to make it work financially, Shannon worked as a corporate lawyer on daytime & as an intern at the respective station i.e. WFTS-TV on an overnight shift.
In the year 2001, she shifted to Charlotte, North Carolina, in order to present the evening and late-night news for CBS-affiliate, WBTV network. And three years later, she was serving as a weekend anchor for NBC affiliate, WRC-TV, located in Washington D.C.
While at WRC-TV she became friend with Brit Hume, who was Fox News Channel Washington bureau’s managing editor at the time. With this help and encouragement, she submitted the audition tapes.
